Primitive Island camping
East Tennessee
We provide water taxi service to and from the island on a pontoon boat along with all the camping gear. You bring the desire for a unique camping experience along with food, clothing and sleeping bags. Skip the crowds at the campground! You’ll get to choose from any of the available campsites on the various islands. Currently we have two set ups that will accomodate 2-6 people. We have multiple tents to accomodate various sleeping arrangements. Equipment rental starts at $195 for 1-6 nights. Add a paddleboard for $35 or Kayak for $50 Same price whether you stay for 1 or 6 nights. Water taxi service is $95/hr with minimum time of 1hr there and 1hr back and is included in the price. Pet friendly, Dogs ride for free! Watts Bar Lake at Spring City, TN is only an hour from Chattanooga or Knoxville and 2 hours from Nashville Tennessee.

We had a great time! We wanted some time away from the bustle and this was a perfect, easy getaway! We only brought sleeping bags, clothes, and food. Everything else was there! It’s not far from the marina. My daughter and I were able to kayak easily there and even back to the marina to enjoy dinner. -Avalon
Beautiful, shaded camping on smallish island. Feels isolated but probably half mile from marina. Weird to arrive at a camping spot with camp already created. My boys and I used inflatable kayaks and had a great Father’s Day weekend together. Explored duck island a bit, swung from the rope swing, played cards, sat by the fire, and fished. -Bryan
